Website updates

Different huh?

Take a look around, there are all kinds of new things on the site. The ipod on the home page is playing some of the projects I’ve done. There is a 360º walk thru of Studio A on the Studio page. Coming soon… a webtools page for registered clients with easy integration of ftp and source connect technology. And even a PayPal® link.

Please reach out and let me know what you think.

Studio A gets some remodeling

Well, finally Studio A will look as good as it sounds. After six months of patience, the main tracking room is getting new lighting, fabric and wood panels, and floor. Here are some pictures of the work in progress that I took with my camera phone.

Kip Winger re-cuts classics as classical

Kip Winger arranged and orchestrated classical versions of two of his hit songs for piano, harp, cello and voice.

For sonic reasons, Kip wanted to have all the musicians together in one room, so to record the tracks, we went to Sound Kitchen’s “Big Boy” studio. Harpist Phyllis Sparks, cellist John Catchings and pianist Emily were set-up on the main tracking floor so that they could see and hear each other easily.

It was a very fun session and I think the tracks very cool. I’ll let you know where you can hear them when they are completed.

Nicholas Cage to make feature film based on The Dance-The Billy Roth Story

Back in 2003, I recorded and mixed the score for The Dance- the Billy Roth Story, a documentary about a man who, for over 40 years, was a volunteer boxing coach at Angola prison in Louisiana. I thought it was a great story and that the film was very well done (I’m a big fan of documentaries).

I came across these articles about Nicholas Cage and 50 Cent making a feature film from the story. Check it out.

IV Music wins Boards Idol

Recently, I mixed a piece for IV Music to enter in the prestigious “Boards Idol” competition which took place recently at the Boards Summit in New York, the largest commercial advertising production conference. IV went in as underdog and came out with the win. Pretty Cool. Here’s a link to their blog for more info:
