My on-site FTP server is a good way to exchange large numbers of files. There are no limits on file size or number of files. It is easy to use and can be accessed from the link above or with any FTP client. User names and passwords are issued on a per-project basis.

If you choose to use an ftp client, for MacOS I recommend using Fetch ($25) or Cyberduck (free)
For Windows I like CoffeeCup Free FTP 4.0

We frequently use iChat and Skype for instant communication. Both feature voice and/or video as well as text chat, and you can drag and drop files for quick exchange.

yousendit

yousendit is an online file exchange service. You have to sign up for an account (Free, Pro or Business) and then you upload your files with the email address of recipient and, presto, they get an email with a download link. Slower than our ftp server, but a great option.
