The album features the finest musicians in Nashville and beyond.
Long time friend, collaborator - and the backbone of DRRP - Chris McDonald set out to create a large ensemble jazz recording of mostly original material, performed by world class musicians. He has done just that. The project spans multiple styles, all anchored by Chris' unique voice as a composer and orchestrator and one can easily pick up the musicians who have most inspired him form Chicago to Basie, Yes to Stan Kenton, Tower of Power to Maynard, BS&T to Chick, Pat Metheny to Buddy Rich.
Co-producing and engineering this album was one of my greatest joys. It was Chris' concept to have a different rhythm section for every tune and we had the most unbelievable talent in every chair for every song. Every note, both written and performed, is truly inspired.
