For over 15 years, DRRP has helped SeaWorld create some of it's most memorable entertainment across the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens theme parks. We enjoy these collaborative opportunities to educate and entertain in an effort to raise awareness for environmental and animal conservation. For us, the themes of Unity, Trust and Inspiration are worthy of exploration and sharing.
The score for the new Orca Encounter show sets these themes in an inspiring Pop/Orchestral score that sounds as huge and exciting as the animals themselves. Our concept was to build the score around honest, artist-type songs to help the trainers convey the story of these amazing animals to the audience. In addition to our new compositions, we also reimagined the fan favorite "One Song" from the One Ocean show and re-purposed bits of the score from San Diego's Orca Encounter show.
Kurt Goebel was lead composer and (together with Ellen Goebel) lyrisist. Chris McDonald did the orchestrations and conducted.
